Penhaligon’s have a wonderful selection of fragrances, one of the never-ending aspects of the brand that appeals to me is their unique way of creating floral fragrances - always beautiful and exotic. Whilst I love many of their unisex or more masculine orientated scents, the below are a few of my choices from their more floral, feminine options.
The Favourite
A beautifully packaged perfume which also makes a wonderful gift, the Favourite is a great choice to gift someone - or yourself! This is a gentle but mesmerising fragrance with notes of florals that don’t dominate the fragrance. Starting off with mimosa, there are citrus heart notes of mandarin and bergamot finishing with a dreamy combination of jasmine and powdery musk.
“This is a gentle but mesmerising fragrance with notes of florals that don’t dominate...”
This perfume is a perfect option for those who like feminine fragrances but are looking for something unique and less dominant on the floral notes.
Key Notes: mimosa, mandarin, bergamot, musk and jasmine.
Gardenia
A majestic fragrance and one of my favourites from the Penhaligon’s classic collection, Gardenia is a clean and intoxicating floral fragrance. One of the reasons why I love this fragrance so much is because creamy Gardenia takes prominence. Floral fragrances can often be fussy, overly sweet or overpowering, Gardenia is a perfect mix of creamy white florals with other notes that act as an accompaniment to enhance the heart of the fragrance itself.
“A majestic fragrance and one of my favourites from the Penhaligon’s classic collection”
I definitively recommend trying this fragrance if you like clean fresh fragrances.
Key Notes: gardenia, fresh rhubarb, bergamot and vanilla.
Elizabethan Rose
Inspired by the coming together of houses York and Lancaster, this is one of the most magical rose fragrances which I have ever tried. It is a fresh fragrance which celebrates Rose, as with Penhaligon’s other signature floral fragrances it is not overly sweet or overpowering.
“...this is one of the most magical rose fragrances which I have ever tried.”
The surprising elements in this perfume are hazelnut and vetiver which balance out the rose. Wearing Elizabethan Rose transports you to an English garden, it is a delicate and compelling mix which I hope you will try out.
Key Notes: rose, hazelnut leaf and vetiver.
