During the summer I was gifted some incredible citrus fragrances. I actually wasn’t always a fan of citrus notes but I have grown to love wearing these types of scents especially during the summer. Below I share a few of my top choices.
Jo Loves, White Rose & Lemon Leaves
One of my favourite fragrances from the Jo Loves collection, this beautiful floral fragrance blends porcelain white Norma Jean Rose with subtle strands of peppered citrus.
Comprising elements of white rose oil, lemon peel and rose absolute, this is an elegant floral fragrance which is able to mix together luscious rose and fresh lemon leaves perfectly. As it settles on skin the fragrance changes and the floral elements of the rose become more apparent.
It is definitely a wonderful fragrance to try if you love floral fragrances and shy away from overly powerful citrus notes.
Acqua di Parma, Bergamotto di Calabria
This spring, Acqua di Parma launched the limited edition fragrance, Bergamotto di Calabria. The fragrance is rich, luminous and full of vitality and is one of my favourite citrus fragrances for the coming months.
From the onset, you are immersed in the fragrance and it seems as though you are in a field of bergamots. There are mandarin and orange notes which bring succulent fruity accents along with sour notes of grapefruit. The citrus notes of the fragrance are complemented by green tones of ferula and floral notes of geranium which highlight its natural sweetness.
Jo Malone London, Orange Peel & Rose Blush
Bringing us some much needed nostalgia, Marmalade Dreams is a new limited edition collection launched by Jo Malone London this May to celebrate the quintessential British summer.
The British love of marmalade was a starting point for the collection which is based around seasonal fruits used to create homemade preserves. The fragrances are a little different to Jo Malone’s usual style, both in their style and their packaging. My favourite two to mix from the collection are Orange Peel & Rose.
Orange Peel is a wonderfully fresh scent, striking just the right balance between the juiciness of the fruit and the bitterness of the rind. Rose Blush equally as unique, petal-fresh with an added hint of basil leaf in the top notes for a green, herbaceous twist.
