With a history beginning in New York around 1851, Kiehl’s is a heritage brand that continues to be as relevant and as loved today, as it was in the past. The principle of personalized customer service, together with generous sampling, has remained a Kiehl’s tradition for more than 95 years. I’ve always been impressed that after a complimentary consultation at Kiehl’s, you are given generous samples of the product to try at home before you decide what full sized products to purchase.
Many of the classics which are still the most popular, such as Kiel’s lip balm, were formulated in the 1960’s. I remember growing up with Kiehl’s products, from a hand cream my mother used to love to various face products my sisters swore by, the brand always gives a sense of familiarity. I think my first ever Kiehl’s product was a simple moisturiser that one of my sister’s purchased for me, it was one of those products that ended up having a permanent place in my skincare routine. I have too many favourites from Kiehl’s to list in one article, so below I include a mix of old favourites and newer products from the range I particularly recommend.
Daily Reviving Concentrate
A product that it always on the bestseller lists, Kiehl’s Daily Reviving Concentrate is a wonderful choice to add into your daily skincare regime. A lightweight facial oil that keeps skin looking radiant every day, it includes ingredients such as ginger root, sunflower and tamanu oil. Suitable for combination skin or those with oilier skin, the concentrate has antioxidant protection and used over time, gives skin a lovely glow. I use 2-3 drops in the morning after my daily moisturiser.
Buttermilk for Lips, Overnight Lip Treatment
I only started using lip masks this year, previously I had never heard of them! Buttermilk for Lips is an intensively hydrating lip mask. Infused with coconut oil and wild mango butter, this overnight treatment for dry lips smoothes and softens while you sleep. I have really enjoyed using this product during the summer months when my lips get quite dry and it will remain part of my skincare regime this winter!
Cannabis Sativa Seed Oil Herbal Cleanser
A newer product in the range, this is a herbaceous, calming face wash formulated with ingredients including cannabis sativa seed and green oregano oils.
With a unique gel texture, I found that it was really effective at taking out impurities within the skin, without stripping away all of its moisture as many effective cleansers do. I also loved its fresh, revitalising fragrance. This is definitely a wonderful product to try out if you have problem skin.
Calendula Herbal-Extract Toner
This facial toner has been a customer favourite since the 1960s. This Kiehls cult-classic formula contains hand-picked calendula flower petals, allantoin and great burdock root - all ingredients which have been used for centuries for their medicinal properties. I have been using this product for many years, I have found that it is great
