Celebrating the queen of cities which lies between two worlds, Penhaligon’s London recently launched a new fragrance into their Trade Routes collection, Constantinople. Sold out shortly after launching, Penhaligon’s new fragrance transports you to this cultural jewel of a city, ‘sensual yet defiant’ it captures the magic of the Middle East.

This is a woody oriental perfume, with an intoxicating mix of pine, pink pepper and lavender. At the heart of the fragrance is iris, rose and geranium ending on notes of vanilla, patchouli. The moss and vanilla give Constantinople a warmth which makes it very unique fragrance, the floral notes add a rich element without being overpowering or feminine.

Whilst this is not my favourite fragrance from the Trade Routes collection, it is definitely one which I will be wearing in the coming winter season. I especially love to wear scents from oriental families during the colder season. Constantinople has the unique attributes to be different yet comforting with its familiarity to the other Trade Route fragrances.
