A newcomer in the Pakistani fashion industry, Hussain Rehar has inspired a new generation with his imaginative creations, traditional yet contemporary and evocative of a bygone era. Hussain has pioneered a new genre of clothing in Pakistan, the creative vision he has for his designs reflect the traditional aspects of Pakistan in a unique, modern way.
I discovered Hussain’s designs about a year ago after his first fashion show for his ‘Nawab Zaadiyan’ collection, I have been a huge fan of his designs ever since. His collections very elegantly bring ancient Lucknow to 21st century Lahore with a medley of sophisticated, innovative silhouettes.
Aaina is a playful raw silk outfit with a fully embroidered and delicately hand embellished neckline with handcrafted tassels, along with a heavyset hem and sleeves with candy pink accents on egg shell white. Paired with embellished palazzo pants, and a hand embellished organza ‘dupatta’.
What attracted me to this outfit was firstly the colourful palette, I loved the mix of bright pink with soft white and secondly the beautiful embroidery which features hand sewn pearls and sequins. I also love the playfulness of the pom-poms and ‘potli’ bag. I accessorised the outfit with bright pink suede stilettos and statement making chandbali earrings by Preeti Mohan Jewellery with shocking pink stones.
