Jo Malone London has launched some beautiful new fragrances for spring. This includes their colourful new Blossoms collection and also a new Cologne Intense released in February.
Scarlet Poppy Cologne Intense
“This ravishing scent has been inspired by its exotic blooms and amplified by velvety iris. Barley and tonka bean add a double hit of sweet decadence while a burst of succulent fig draws us into this opulent and moreish fragrance.”
Released in February, this fragrance is the latest Cologne Intense in the Jo Malone collection. This new fragrance takes you to the wild steppes of Asia, home to Oriental Poppies. If that sounds unique it definitely is, this is an unexpectedly beautiful fragrance. Scarlet Poppy is opulent and unique. The inspiration behind this fragrance was to create an intense version of Poppy and Barley, a highly praised launch from Jo Malone last year. Scarlet Poppy is a ravishing, moreish and sweetly decadent scent. I tend to be a little predictable with my fragrance choices, however I love this new scent as it is a very unique addition to my fragrance collection.

“Every year Jo Malone brings out their spring blossom collection. Their blossom fragrances are often inspired by white or pastel-hued flowers, this year their focus was on hibiscus which is something more bold and colourful.”
Blossoms Collection
Every year Jo Malone brings out their spring blossom collection. Their blossom fragrances are often inspired by white or pastel-hued flowers, this year their focus was on hibiscus which is something more bold and colourful. The Yellow Hibiscus and the Red Hibiscus have very different stories and occupy different coastlines, something which comes out in the distinct fragrances themselves.
Yellow Hibiscus Cologne
“An exotic bloom growing on tropical islands. The dewy freshness of rose underpins this sparkling floral scent, with a slice of lime a dding a burst of juiciness.”
The yellow hibiscus is an exotic bloom which grows on tropical islands, it is a revered beauty only blooming at certain points of the day. This lovely fresh fragrance also has notes of roses, which are picked at dawn when the scent of the blooms is at its most exquisite and powdery white musk. This is a really fresh vibrant fragrance, I particularly like the combination of rose and lime - its a great fragrance for those who like florals without them being too sweet.

Red Hibiscus Cologne
“The red hibiscus is known for its enchanting petals and can be found in the heart of a tropical forest. With a touch of Jasmine Sambac and the warmth of vanilla, this intense solar floral draws you in with smoothness and sensuality.”
The red hibiscus is a cousin of yellow hibiscus which grows in the tropical forests of Hawaii, a shyer more rare creature. It is often used for its medicinal purposes as it is rich in anti-oxidants and vitamins. This striking fragrance also has notes of sharp mandarin, rich jasmine, ylang ylang and warm vanilla. Red Hibiscus is a sensuous and rich fragrance, its quite unusual for a floral scent and is a perfect choice if you like statement making floral fragrances.
