Estée Lauder’s Double Wear foundation and Advanced Night Repair are two iconic products I have been using for many years; used alone, either product is wonderful but together they are a powerful combination which yields spectacular results.
Double Wear Stay in Place Make-up SPF10
Double Wear is one of Estée Lauder’s best-selling products. It comes in over 60 shades and claims that it lasts for over 24 hours without any touch-ups needed, gives a flawless finish, covers imperfections and feels like a second skin rather than a heavy foundation. Those are rather a long list of claims so the question is whether Double Wear foundation can actually be the holy grail of all foundations and live up to its impressive claims? Many women would agree with my opinion that this foundation has a cult status for a reason, it has supreme staying power and adheres to the skin for the full length of the day, no matter what your day entails and leaves a beautiful finish on the skin.

Many make-up products fade over the course of the day, with Double Wear this foundation helps to fix your blusher/highlighter/bronzer in place. Applying it does require some practise, using a small amount I find that fingertips are the best way to achieve a beautiful smooth coverage. As you only need a minimal amount of product for each application even with daily use one bottle can last a long time and replaces the need for concealer too. It probably works best with those with oily skin as my personal experience is that the formula radiates with the natural oils in your skin. The range has many shades so is suitable for all skin colours. My only criticism would be that it gives a relatively natural look but application requires a light touch otherwise the result can be too heavy.
Advanced Night Repair
A beauty staple since 1982, this rather famous serum is another one of Estée Lauder’s best selling products, apparently so popular that ten bottles are sold every minute. This product really does work wonders and is in my opinion one of the best serums on the market and a must-have in your skincare regime. Although it is quite expensive it is really worth the price as it covers a multitude of of skincare issues in one product. When I was travelling extensively for work or staying late at the office I found Advanced Night Repair to be a vital part of my daily skincare regime as it helps skin look smoother, less lined and radiant.

I have tried many serums but there is nothing quite like Advanced Night Repair, no dupe or me-to products exist. Part of the reason for its exclusive properties is that as a Company, Estée Lauder started investing in innovative scientific formulas long before its competitors and was the first to create an overnight repair product. The formula has been revised and improved on, the latest formulation being released in August 2020. Best used at night with your moisturiser and suitable for all skin types, the serum has a lightweight gel-like texture and is quickly absorbed and instantly brightens the skin similar to a post-facial glow. Whilst I cannot be sure of its long term benefits, as a instant hydrating and skin brightening product it is one of the best and a good beginner anti-ageing alternative to retinol.
Whilst both Double Wear and Advanced Night Repair are hit products by themselves, I also love combining the two for a fresh and radiant look. A few other products which I would recommended trying below.
Revitalising Supreme + Anti-Ageing Creme
Both a morning and a night cream this moisturiser gives your skin a new bounce and glow. This product features Estée Lauder’s RevitaKey Technology featuring Moringa Extract which is said to improve skin’s natural elasticity. The Moringa plant has been used for thousands of years for its nourishing qualities and is a great source of calcium, potassium, Vitamin C, amino acids and Omega 3. After using Revitalising Supreme + for a few weeks skin feels firmer and more plumped.
Advanced Night Repair Eye Supercharged Complex
Specially formulated to tackle the visible impact of lack of sleep, UV rays, pollution and blue light, the lightweight gel-cream texture of this eye cream targets signs of ageing and fatigue around the eye area. In my opinion its best used along with Advanced Night Repair. Whilst it doesn’t reduce dark circles it does brighten the eye area, reduce puffiness, lines and dryness.
Double Wear Concealer
Designed to perfectly match your skin tone this product conceals and contours with a creamy formulation that is blendable, long wearing for 12 hours and crease-resistant. It has medium to full coverage, helps to make the eye area more radiant and very effectively conceals dark circles. I often prefer not to wear foundation and the Double Wear Concealer is a perfect alternative for when you wish to have coverage with minimal make up. Initially I wasn’t sure about its thick consistency but after a few uses I really love this concealer, it is an exact match to my skin and gives a very polished, look with minimal product.
