Garden of Eden by Nomi Ansari is a riot of colour, I was speechless when I first saw it. Reminiscent of a Dolce and Gabbana print it is a black canvas with a blooming floral work of art on the ‘lehnga’, a bedazzled ‘choli’ with precious crystals and stones, finished with a tulle net ‘dupatta’.
The original design by Nomi is a deep bottle green, however I thought that black would suit me better. After discussing my thoughts with Nomi, his team created a bespoke outfit based on my wishes. Usually taking six months to create, this entire piece is handcrafted by a team of expert artisans. Based on my request, Nomi’s team were able to make the outfit for me in three months. The height of professionalism, once I placed the order I didn’t need to do much, everything was taken care of.
The finished piece was even more breathtaking than I imagined, I was also really happy I chose to take the risk of making the piece in black. The construction and design of the ‘choli’ was perfect, often the source of many problems, it fit me perfectly. This is one of those show-stopping dresses, it received so much attention from people whilst we were shooting these photos! A very unique item in my wardrobe I couldn’t recommend Nomi and his team enough.
